I’ve done it! I got Metal Sonic Lost World running on the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World.įor now, I’ve only implemented Metal Sonic’s model (using the exact same model file from the PC mod,) Metal Sonic’s materials and textures (also using the exact same files from the PC mod,) Metal Sonic’s skeleton (which I had to re-export for Wii U compatibility,) and a single animation (which I also had to re-export for compatibility, and will need to do for every other animation.)Īdditionally, to prove that it’s the Wii U version, I took these screenshots from the game’s Multiplayer mode.

I’ve also uploaded the full-res versions of these renders onto my DeviantArt (as updates to their previous entries on there.) Their DeviantArt entries (which include a download link for the full-res png files) can be found here and here. In addition to implementing the previously mentioned changes, I also added in a few other barely noticeable details, made some barely noticeable fixes to the topology (for cleaner sub-division,) adjusted the color scheme a bit, improved the quality of the gloss/specular material effects, and I finally added in “true” reflections (since I’ve finally found an optimal way to do them without having to leave out the gloss and reflection effects I’d previously been using.) Obviously, this gave me an excuse to re-do the two Metal Sonic renders I’ve made this year (while also conveniently giving me something to post on the day of the Sonic 25th Anniversary Party.)

Since I made some changes to Metal Sonic’s model in Metal Sonic Lost World last month (the eyes, head, and fingers,) I’ve now implemented those changes into my high-poly render model.
